About Me

vargamari: Racine, Wisconsin, United States; I'm Maria Varga-Hansen, a.k.a. Vargamari, was born in Hungary and lived there, and in Austria from 1988 - 2008. In 2009 I moved to the USA, married, and have been living and working in Racine, Wisconsin. My life is all about art: first as an actress, then textile-designer and hand-weaver, and the last 22 years as a fine art painter, working by different mediums such as watercolor, oil, pastel, ink and, last but not least, my favorite medium: encaustic. I had several exhibitions in Europe and my works are in different private collections. I held painting classes for thousands of children in Austria, and also for adults in watercolor and in encaustic. I offer classes in the USA as well.
